Reverend David Andrew Sullivan, Rector
Fr. Sullivan grew up as one of four sons in an Irish-Catholic family on an apple orchard in rural upstate New York. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church in Peru, New York. In 1972, after serving four years in the United States Coast Guard, he married Roberta King and together they ran the apple orchard. Fr. Sullivan was received into the Episcopal Church at St. Paul’s in Keeseville, New York in 2004 and for the next three years he prepared for Holy Orders under the direction of the Diocese of Albany’s Theologian, the Rev. Dr. Christopher Brown. On the Eve of Pentecost May 10, 2008, he was ordained a deacon at the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany, New York by The Right Reverend William H. Love, Ninth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany.
On September 1, 2008, Rev. Sullivan was appointed as Deacon Vicar of the Church of the Good Shepherd by Bishop Love. In September of the same year, he began his studies for the priesthood at Nashotah House Theological Seminary, Nashotah, Wisconsin and on October 27, 2010 graduated with a MA in Ministry. On December 19, 2010, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, Rev. Sullivan was Ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests and instituted as Rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd by Bishop Love.
